This painting is inspired by reported UFO sightings off the coast of Cardwell, Queensland, where witnesses described glowing orbs rising silently from the sea. Rather than attempting to depict the event, I imagine the moment before certainty, when observation becomes memory and speculation begins.

Viewed from above, the landscape is reduced to simplified bands of colour that dissolve the boundary between land and water. The orbs emerge quietly, not as spectacle but as unresolved presences.

Made at a time of renewed public interest in UAP disclosure, the work reflects my fascination with places where ordinary landscapes become connected to extraordinary stories. It explores the space between testimony and imagination, inviting viewers to consider how mystery becomes part of a landscape and how some questions continue to resist explanation.
